Public Realm Improvements in Killorglin
Public Notice in Compliance with Part XI of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) as set down in Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended).
Pursuant to the requirements of the above, Notice is hereby given that Kerry County Council proposes to carry out the development, particulars of which are set out hereunder.

Location:The Square, Market Street, Lower Bridge Street, Upper Bridge Street and Annadale Road Killorglin. Co Kerry
Townland(s): Castleconway, Farrantoreen and Laharan

Nature and extent of the Proposed Works
The Public Realm improvement will involve enhancing the town centre using quality paving materials, seating, trees, planting, signage, art and lighting.
The Square:Consolidate the split road in the Square to make a larger new public space on the northern side of the street with widened footpaths on both sides. New parallel parking on the south side. Good quality materials with street furniture, trees, lighting and an art feature will enhance this space. Two controlled crossings and one uncontrolled crossing are proposed.
Market Street:Convert existing two-way traffic to a to one way in a southernly direction. Road width to reduce to 4m wide with generous footpaths on both sides. Parallel parking on both sides of the street. Provision of additional raised controlled pedestrian crossing on the Junction with Main Street.
Lower Bridge Street(between Market St junction and Annadale road Junction): Reduce carriageway to 3.7m wide with generous footpaths on both sides, landscaping etc. Parallel parking on one side of the street. The junction with Annadale road to be tightened with a raised uncontrolled crossing.
Lower Bridge Street(Annadale road junction toward the Bridge): Junction to be maintained with an improved mini roundabout with controlled pedestrian crossings on three approach roads. Existing parking to be removed.
Annadale Road:Revised kerb lines to widen footpath with the removal of parking along the southern side (Bianconi) and the provision of a controlled crossing.
Kerry County Council as the Competent Authority has concluded that the proposed project, individually, and in combination with other plans and projects, is not one which requires an Appropriate Assessment
(AA) or an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and is not likely to have significant effects on the environment.
Pursuant to Article 120(3)(b) a member of the public, may at any time before the expiration of 4 weeks beginning on the date of the publication of this notice, seek an EIA screening determination from An Bord Pleanála as to whether the proposed development would have significant effects on the environment.
Plans and Particulars of the proposed works are available for inspection or purchase, on payment of a specified fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making such a copy, during normal office hours from Wednesday, 15th of October 2025 to Thursday, 27th of November 2025 at the following locations;
