Public Notice in Compliance with the Road Traffic Act 1994 (Section 38) as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46)
Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, asamended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Kerry County Council proposes to introduce traffic calming measures and enhanced pedestrian facilities at Killeen Road Junction, Tralee, Co. Kerry.
The proposed works are as follows:
Introduction of 2no. pedestrian crossings at the existing traffic signals on the Oakpark Road R878 at the junction with Killeen Road L10779, Tralee
Minor widening of Footpaths in the vicinity of the junction
Set back of the stop line on the Northern approach of the Oakpark Road, R878, to facilitate the pedestrian crossing and vehicular turning movement
Adjustment of corner radii at the Junction to calm traffic
Removal of existing bollards
All ancillary works
Drawings showing the location of the proposed works may be inspected at the following
locations during normal office hours, for a period of one month, from Thursday, 26th March 2026
Tralee Municipal District Office, Kerry County Council, Prince’s Quay, Tralee, Co. Kerry
Roads Maintenance & Operational Services, Room 115, Kerry County Council, County Buildings, Rathass, Tralee
It will also be advertised on the Kerry County Council website – www.kerrycoco.ie
Observations or representations in relation to the proposal may be made, in writing and marked Section 38 –Traffic Calming Measures and Enhanced Pedestrian Facilities at Killeen Road Junction, Tralee to the Administrative Officer, Roads Maintenance & Operational Services, Room 115, Kerry County Council, County Buildings, Rathass, Tralee, Co. Kerry
