SPEED LIMIT REVIEW 2023 – PHASE 2 OF 4 - IMPLEMENTATION OF BUILT UP
AND URBAN AREA SPEED LIMITS
DRAFT SPECIAL SPEED LIMIT BYE- LAWS 2026
PUBLIC CONSULTATION

In accordance with Section 9 of the Road Traffic Act, 2004, as amended by Sections 53 to 56 of the Road Traffic and Roads Act, 2023, and Sections 6 to 10 of the Road Traffic Act, 2024, the Draft Kerry County Council Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws Maps 2026 have been prepared and will be available for inspection during normal office hours (9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.) Monday to Friday, from Wednesday, 24th June 2026 to Friday, 24th July 2026 (both dates inclusive) at the following locations:

• Room 115, Roads Maintenance & Operational Services, Kerry County Council, County Buildings, Tralee
• Each Kerry County Council Municipal District and Area Office
• and online through https://consult.kerrycoco.ie/en/browse and/or www.kerrycoco.ie

Submissions/observations on the Draft Special Speed Limit Bye-Laws Maps may be made in writing to:

• Administrative Officer, Roads Maintenance & Operational Services, Room 115, Kerry County Council, County Buildings, Rathass, Tralee, Co. Kerry or
• by email to roads@kerrycoco.ie or
• Through the Kerry County Council consultation portal, https://consult.kerrycoco.ie/en/browse which can also be accessed directly through the Council website www.kerrycoco.ie, using the + make a submission link.
The latest date for receipt of submissions and observations is before 3pm on Friday, 7th August 2026.
