Traffic calming measures on the R551 at Mounthawk, Tralee

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Kerry County Council proposes to provide traffic calming measures on the R551 at Mounthawk, Tralee. The proposed works will involve

• Reallocation of road space to widen and segregate existing cycle lanes, by reducing carriageway width over approx. 145m length.

• Tightening of existing school vehicular junction along the R551 and provision for speed bumps. • Provision for associated road markings and signage.

• Proposed upgrade of 1 no. existing controlled Zebra type crossing.

• Provision for 1 no.controlled Zebra type pedestrian crossing.

• Provision for 3.0m wide path connecting school grounds to the Greenway including access gate over approx. 195m length.

• All associated ancillary and accommodation works. Drawing(s) showing the location of the proposed works may be inspected at the following locations during normal office hours, for a period of one month, from Wednesday, 04th September to Friday, 04th October 2024.

It will also be advertised on Kerry County Council’s website www.kerrycoco.ie

Observations or representations in relation to the proposal may be made, in writing, and marked Section 38 R551, Mounthawk, Tralee, to the Administrative Officer, Capital Development Unit North, Kerry County Council, Princes Quay, Tralee, Co. Kerry or by e-mail to cdunorth@kerrycoco.ie and must be received by 4.00 p.m. on Friday, 04th October 2024.
