In County Kerry, heritage is a very visible part of our culture and landscape. We are fortunate to be surrounded by our built, natural, and cultural/linguistic heritage, all of which collectively define the unique character and distinctiveness of the county.
Kerry County Council (KCC) intend to prepare a Draft Heritage Strategy. The Kerry County Heritage Strategy 2025-2035 will be a high-level strategic document of the Council’s policies in relation to the heritage of County Kerry. It will set out a strategic framework and vision for heritage activity and management for the next ten years.
This Strategy will seek to cherish, value, conserve and enhance the rich heritage of the county in a manner that is respectful of our past, mindful of our present needs and sustainable for future generations.
The information gathered during the pre-draft consultation process will contribute to the development of a Draft Heritage Strategy for County Kerry and assisted in prioritising areas for heritage action up to 2035.
Pre-draft Consultation will take place between Monday 7th April 2025 and Friday 25th April 2025.
