Public Notice in Compliance with Part XI of the Planning & Development Act 2000 (as amended) as set down in Part 8 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended).
Pursuant to the requirements of the above, Notice is hereby given that Kerry County Council proposes to carry out the development, particulars of which are set out hereunder.

Nature and extent of the Proposed Works
The proposed works include for the following:
of roof garden with glazed circulation area including lift and stairs access including solar PV panels;
of existing mansard roof attic space into a new museum space with central rooflight overhead;
led restoration and upgrading including restoration of existing original windows throughout building, consolidation and repointing of stonework, roof restoration and conservation of existing railings
of accessibility of the building including addition of universally accessible toilets including a ‘changing places’ toilet, addition of an external accessible ramp at the front of the building and alteration of existing window to provide new access to front northern elevation
ancillary works to facilitate energy upgrade/retrofitting, improvements to the public realm and ancillary works to accommodate the above schedule of works.
The proposed development will consist of the carrying out of works to a protected structure which is located within an architectural conservation area and would materially affect the character of this structure.
Kerry County Council as the Competent Authority has concluded that the proposed project, individually, and in combination with other plans and projects, is not one which requires an Appropriate Assessment (AA) or an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and is not likely to have significant effects on the environment.
Pursuant to Article 120(3)(b) a member of the public, may at any time before the expiration of 4 weeks beginning on the date of the publication of this notice, seek an EIA screening determination from An Bord Pleanála as to whether the proposed development would have significant effects on the environment.
Plans and Particulars of the proposed works are available for inspection or purchase on payment of a specified fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making such a copy, during normal office hours from Thursday, 10th April 2025, until Thursday, 8th May 2025: at the following locations;
