Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to Section 38 (3) of the Road Traffic Act 1994, as amended by the Public Transportation Regulation Act, 2009 (Section 46), Kerry County Council proposes to provide traffic calming measures on the R875 & R874 at Moyderwell, Ballymullen and Castle Street Upper, Tralee. The proposed works will involve:
• Reallocation of road space to accommodate shared streets and widened pedestrian spaces, by reducing carriageway widths, construction of build outs, kerb realignment and removal of parking spaces.
• Provision for school zone gateways.
• Realignment of existing parking spaces and 3 no. vehicular junctions.
• Reducing the number of entry lanes at Moyderwell-Boherbee junction.
• Provision to make Daly’s Lane one-way (vehicles to travel in a northbound direction).
• Provision for continuous footpaths across 10 no. junctions.
• Provision for 3 no.controlled Zebra type pedestrian crossings.
• Provision for 1 no. school warden crossing patrol point.
• Proposed upgrade of 1 no. existing controlled Zebra type crossing.
• Provision for associated road markings, buff coloured & high friction surfacing and signage.
• All associated ancillary and accommodation works including hard and soft landscaping.
Drawing(s) showing the location of the proposed works may be inspected at the following locations during normal office hours, for a period of one month, from Wednesday, 04th September to Friday, 04th October 2024.
