Kerry County Council have prepared the Fenit Village Design Masterplan, in conjunction with Carr Cotter & Naessens Architects. It sets out proposals for the redevelopment of the core of the village, primarily from the central green area to the beachfront.
The Masterplan provides for the development of two key sites in the village: the greenfield site including O’ Sullivan’s Bar (the Central Core) and the seafront public realm centred on the playground, greenway terminus and entrance to the beach.
The Tralee Municipal District Local Area Plan 2018-2024 was adopted by the MD members on September 17th 2018 which still has a statutory basis. An amendment to the Plan is now required in order to include the Fenit Village Design Masterplan, and associated objective, into the Local Area Plan.
Submissions
The plan making process is a collaborative one and we are looking for your views. Kerry County Council hereby invites any interested parties to make submissions or observations regarding the Fenit Village Design Masterplan, in writing or electronically via this website, to the Planning Authority between Wednesday 6th April 2022 to Friday 3rd June 2022 (both dates inclusive).

Please make your submission by one medium only i.e. in hard copy or via the website. Email submissions will not be accepted.
Please note submissions should ONLY relate to the proposed amendment to the Tralee Municipal District Local Area Plan 2018-2024 [Draft Fenit Design Masterplan].
LATE SUBMISSIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
The deadline for receipt of all submissions is 5.00 pm on Friday 3rd June 2022.
Public Information Evening
The draft Masterplan will be on public display in the Fenit Parish Hall on Wednesday 4th May 2022 (5pm-8pm) where members of the Planning Department will be available to answer any questions.
