Remove the H&CSA designations from the draft LAP.
Further dialogue/not to proceed
The development of the river walk/park and wastewater treatment facility in Chapeltown should be developed so that they complement and support each other to allow the land they occupy reach their GEP
The Council include the right of way to the Peninsula Park in the town plan
For the Kenmare MD LAP to be revised in respect to the items/ areas outlined in the comments in particular areas outlined on page 114 "5.1.8 Portmagee land use zoning assessment" & page 167 Figure 5.33: Portmagee CFRAMS Coastal & NCFHM 1% & 0.1% AEP MRFS which does not take into consideration infrastructure in place at the outlined properties in the comments. The properties held by me & my neighbour's are incorrectly categorized as being in flood zone A & B and at risk of "coastal flooding" when it is clear that more than adequate privately funded Civil engineering infrastructure has been put in place to pre-empt any such risk to our properties for the duration well beyond the 2023-2029 plan
Better integrate Main Street // Much on-street parking capacity in the immediate vicinity reduces retail rents // Slowing down traffic in Main Street
as in the comment section above: 1. The provision of adequate statutory protections for the ensemble of relevant sites including the Cable Station complex and Slate Yard at Knightstown with a view to preserving the natural boundaries of these sites , including their integrity, authenticity and sustainability, while at the same time not inhibiting the development of the island’s infrastructure, including affordable and sustainable homes, commercial outlets and other community building needs. 2. The provision of infrastructure improvements in anticipation of increased number of residents and visitors to the island, on a round year basis, including road improvements, parking, cycling lanes, water and waste treatment, broadband infrastructure etc 3. To enable the start up and scaling up of new businesses which will emerge from the Digital Hub at the Cable Station and by providing industrial development space at Chapeltown 4. To increase the number of affordable homes to accommodate exiting needs in the community as well as the new arrivals and families who will take uptake up positions and/or establish new enterprises in the Digital Hub at the Cable Station and the Business Unit in Chapeltown. 5. To enable the revival of Knightstown as a vibrant village with multiple restaurants, bars and shops to cater for existing residents and the increased number of visitors and employees of the new business at the Cable Station and in Chapeltown. 6. To increase in the number of beds, beyond the availability air bnb and self-catering accommodation, by expanding the Royal Hotel capacity and other sources. This will greatly enhance the island’s ability to attract small conference and corporate events, particularly in the off season, for groups of up to 150.
Move the settlement boundary to the east as outlined in the map
I trust Kerry County Council will act on the concerns outlined above and remove the H&CSA designations from the draft LAP.

Request for Portmagee mainland to be removed from the proposed UNESCO application by the Valentia Island Telegraph Cable Group. Request for clarification regarding Kerry County Council's plans to block new developments and the reference to Meath Co. Council's rules for "Buffer Zones." I am currently not objecting to the application but emphasize that this may change if Portmagee lands continue to be included.
The development of the very welcome Peninsula Park fig. 3.36 in the LAP should be linked back to the town via Market Lane.
Expressing opposition to the contents of the Valentia Island Socio-Economic Plan for 2023-2028, specifically the proposal to include private land in Reencaheragh, Portmagee, in the development area. Requesting clarification and information regarding why the private land was included in the plan without official communication or consent. Requesting the removal of Reencaheragh, Portmagee land from the plan. Urging for acknowledgement of the letter and timely response.
