To ensure that existing networks are maintained to a high level to ensure quality levels of safety, service, accessibility and connectivity to transport users of all transport mode in Killarney, could KCC put in traffic calming measures on the Park Road from the roundabout up to the Deerpark Shopping Centre and down to the roundabout at the Friary. These are dangerous roads and cars speed into shopping centre and into town while residents are trying to walk to the shops and while children are trying to cross the road to go to the different schools. Pedestrian lights are often ignored by motorists. Traffic calming measures were put in Countess Road which are very successful (speed bumps) and both roads have the same speed limits. One would hope that the lives of people living along Park Road are as important as those living in along Countess Road.
