Milltown Community and Chamber Alliance is a representative group of the community and voluntary organisations in Milltown. We are active in improving the quality of life for local people, and we look after several community amenities and facilities. We are keen to see our town grow and develop as a sustainable and inclusive community, and we would like to see the County Development Plan facilitating and enabling Milltown to develop in a more balanced manner that harnesses its assets and resources, particularly its landscape, nature, heritage and social capital.

In September 2020, Milltown Community and Chamber Alliance made a submission to Kerry County Council in respect of the An Daingean Local Area Plan (2021-2027). That submission was informed by objective research and extensive local consultations. Having reviewed that submission in the context of the forthcoming CDP, the Chamber Alliance wishes to re-state its commitment to it, and we encourage Kerry County Council to utilise the CDP framework to advance the proposals we put forward in respect of the LAP.

In addition, we attach a set of observations in respect of the forthcoming County Development Plan.
