Chapter 10: Tourism & Outdoor Recreation

Ábhair:

Ballylongford Enterprise Association is a community led organisation whose aim is to promote and develop Ballylongford. Tourism is a huge factor in our development and strategic plan. From January 1st to December 11th 2019 12,353 foot passengers and cyclists used the Shannon ferry. There are 3 schools busses serving the Ballylongford / Tarbert comprehensive routes. This route has huge potential for tourism. The wild Atlantic way should also be utilised to facilitate cyclists and walkers from Tarbert to Ballybunion via Ballylongford. This would have an immense impact on the economy of these rural areas. It is also possible to connect the greenway in Listowel to the wild Atlantic way in Ballylongford, using the Bunnaruddee bog.
