We would like to echo again points made in our submission in relation to 3.5 Core Strategy Map regarding perception of winners and losers recommending that more consideration is given to Moyvane and the North Kerry region.
We welcome the designation of parts of North Kerry under the Shannon Estuary Coastal Network. We recommend dropping the word ‘coastal’ from its title, so that it better reflects the totality of its geographical coverage in line with Map 9.1. We welcome the fact that Moyvane is at the very centre of this designation, and we are willing to work to ensure that we capitalise on this strategic location. While the designation has been conferred on us without prior consultation, we welcome the associated commitments that are presented in Chapter 9. We request that Kerry County Council consult with us, over the plan’s lifetime, so that Moyvane can optimise the benefits associated with the proposed Shannon Network strategy.
