My name is Lucian Horvat. I work on Valentia Island as a manager at Valentia Island Lighthouse. The reason for this submission is that I have concerns about further development on Valentia Island in general and Valentia Lighthouse in particular as a tourist destination. There is a major need for support from local authorities to help develop the infrastructure on the island and support sustainable planning for the tourism industry in the area.

It is paramount that the Local Authorities would support the development of tourism infrastructure on the Skellig Coast, and particulary on Valentia Island  to facilitate safe road access to tourism attractions, safe travel, car parks and information points for the visitors. It is also very important to support the UNESCO aplication for the Valentia Transatlantic Cable Station as an idustrial heritage site. All these wold help growing the economy in the area and have a positive impact on the local community.
