Chapter 8: Gaeltacht Areas, Culture & Heritage

I submit that in the build architectural heritage section there should be reference made to the preservation of the remaining Industrial heritage buildings/sites of Kerry.

The fact that Kerry was home to three transatlantic cable stations  is something unique that should be celebrated and the remaining associated industrial heritage sites preserved.

The three cable stations are called out as a Milestone by the IEEE (Institute of Electronic Engineers)

Waterville cable station is part of the European Route of Industrial Heritage.

This would be complementary to the admirable aim of Kerry County Council of supporting the UNESCO bid for Valentia cable station.
